The Holy Ground Collages

"The Holy Ground" is a series of traditional and digitally enhanced collages, focusing on themes of feminity, sexuality and womanhood. They were first shown at "Asking for it" exhibition at AMT gallery in London. 

 

From the gallery description :
"[...]meditation on how female sexuality is portrayed in media and art. I mix up the male-gazed modern and historical female bodies into surreal compositions, as surreal as this portrayal is. It is indeed sad how much objectivization, idealisation and domination of women is enclosed into it, even in female-targeted media products. That is ultimately part of culture that leads to sexual violence.  Are we "asking for it" or rather having it shoved up our throats?"
